'BRAIN FITNESS' CLaSSES!


PCYC Lang Park is now offering new regular Brain Fitness classes commencing on Wednesday the 16th of July.

Brain Fitness brings together the latest information on the brain and neuroplasticity with Brain Gym© to explore ways to enhance mental fitness as we age. Enjoy activating your brain through movement, improving your focus, concentration and mental clarity.

When: Wednesdays 11am until midday.
Cost: $7 per class

(Membership to the PCYC also applies)

The Lang Park PCYC is delivering exciting active and healthy activities for children and adults on behalf of Brisbane City Council’s Active and Healthy Program - Active Parks:

For Adults:

4 Week Fit Camp Challenge:  The time has come to face the music and get fitter, stronger and leaner for SPRING! Two free classes per week for 4 weeks! No fancy equipment, no fancy gyms and no excuses! You will be provided with a supportive and fun environment that allows you to excel in your fitness.

 

When: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6am - 7am

            5th - 28th August 2014

Where: Neal Macrossan Park,

            14 Caroline St, Paddington

            Meet by the large gum tree beside

            the tennis court    

Cost:     FREE

Bring:   Exercise shoes, clothes, towel

             and water

Welcome to the Lang Park PCYC website

The Lang Park PCYC was the first branch of the Queensland Police-Citizens Youth Welfare

Association to open its doors in 1949. The club was a thriving community centre providing a large

variety of sporting and recreation activities through to arts classes, dances and a Junior Boys band.

The club is proud of its strong heritage and it is still today a prominent community centre providing

activities for all members of the community at very affordable prices. The Lang Park PCYC is also

committed to providinga safe and healthy environment for young people with a focus on youth

development.

and run through to the 8th of September.

BASKETBALL FINALS

Huge congratulations to the three Lang Park Lions basketball teams

that made it to the summer season finals; GBL Men, GBL Women, U23 Men

Unfortunately only one of them made it.........

WELL DONE to the GBL Women for taking it out for the 2nd season in a row!!!!

PARTY @ THE PARK

Come and DANCE the night away at our YOUTH DISCO!

There's loads of fun to be had with a professional

DJ hosting the night! Tickets are available at the door

for $6. Drinks and snacks will also be available for

purchase. The night will be well supervised, however

any parents wishing to hang around are more than

welcome to.

When: Saturday 16th of August   

            Prep to Year 7   :  6.30pm - 9.00pm

We have a 200 sqm weights room equipped with pin machines

and free weights with a separate air-conditioned Cardio

equipment room.

There are no lock in contracts and you can pay casual,

unlimited use for $55 per month or $460 per year up-front or

$10.95 per week direct debited fortnightly. (cheaper rates for

seniors and concession card holders)

YOGA 4 KIDS

6 - 12 years

Wednesdays 4.30pm - 5.30pm

$8/class

Yoga 4 Kids involves playing, dancing, moving, breathing and relaxing

through a combination of yoga poses, games, breathing and visualisation

exercises. The class encourages and develops coordination, emotional calm,

physical strength, body awareness, flexibility and self confidence.

MINI MUSCLES

FUN - FITNESS - NEW FRIENDS

Getting your child into fitness doesn't have to
mean competitive sports.


Our classes strive to increase the overall health
and fitness of the children in a fun, safe,
positive and motivating environment by
utilizing obstacle courses, fitness games,
partner activities, body weight exercises,
resistance bands, circuits and more.

* Mini Muscles Monday 4.15pm (ages 6 - 12 years) *

Creative DANCE Class     

When - Wednesdays 3.30pm - 4.30pm

Cost - $8 per class

Age - 3.5 to 5 year olds

Creative Dance allows children to express themselves through dance and

movement while further encouraging their development of coordination,

balance, creativity and rhythm.

Class numbers are limited to 16 children to ensure that there is enough

space to run, jump and dance.

TODDLER DANCE CLASSES

Monday 11.15am - 12.00pm

A fun and energetic space for toddlers (3 - 5yrs) to play, explore and

express themselves through movement. This class supports the established

Tiny Tots program by providing focused time for children, to further develop

their coordination, balance, body awareness, creativity, language and rhythm.
